Give us an explanation for your gear choices, including why you prioritize certain stats:
Azerite: I run 3x Furious Gaze, 1x Revolving Blades, 1x Thirsting Blades and 1x Chaotic Transformation as it sims the highest for pretty much any raid encounter. Furious Gaze gives me alot of haste and therefore a big boost to my singletarget damage especially with the Felblade&Demon Blades build. The Thirsting Blades empowers every single one of my annihaltion casts which is my highest and most stable dps output. It also gives me alot of burst at the start of a fight or after intermissions like Mekkatorque for example. The revolving blades helps out with the aoe which is already really good on demonhunters. Lastly; Chaotic Transformation. Probably the most powerful trait for demonhunters as It not only gives you a huge amount of burst every 4mins but also an insane uptime on demonform of up to almost a whole minute.
As I have 3x Furious Gaze I don't really need too much haste (I currently keep it around 15%) and can focus more on crit/vers. Versatility is my highest prio as it's a straight up damage increase on all of my abilitys. After that it's crit since mastery is mostly irrelevant especially on single target fights and provides the lowest value. Currently my crit is a bit on the low end (20%) due to socketed items which are a small upgrade even though they for example have haste and mastery on them.
Trinkets: I mostly run with Kimbul's Razor Claw and Dead-Eye Spyglass since the are both really good for single target damage and the Spyglass balancing out my low amount of crit. I'm currently trying to get a decent Plumage for more burst in case its needed for certain raid encounters.
Do you have any logs from your recent raids? Please provide extensive narrative as to why some logs are below average / anything specific you want us to take note of.
These are the logs from our raid on wednesday (reclear); https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/pHrA2wJfvqY1TBb3
Champions: Not a big fan of cheesing on the adds to get better logs like some people do but the damage is still pretty good as you can see.
Grong: Our other DH was running the single target build so I focused a bit more on getting the robots down and therefore ran with Immolation Aura and Blind Fury
Jadefire: Nothing special here except for the fact that I do pick up an orb on my way over to the wall.
Opulence: I'm usually one of the people that picks up a ruby so I'm a bit lower on the damage side since I dont get that juicy damage increase from the opal.
Conclave: Once again same as on Grong - I went for a more AoE focused setup to deal with raptors.
Rastakhan: Only dps loss here is that when we we're about to phase I ran over to Bwonsamdi to apply my 5% magic damage debuff for the people going down.
Mekka: We only had one pull left and I didnt respecc into the single target build for it so thats why my damage was a bit lower than it should be.
Do you have any upcoming events or plans that will make you unavailable for a long period of time (such as holidays/exams, etc)?
Nope, I'm free every evening and all weekends as I don't really do anything besides work and playing games.
Meeting the requirements:
What is your normal latency(ms) and FPS during raids? (Ideally give us the specs of your PC).
My ms is around 15-20 and I've never experienced any kind of spikes due to having really good internet. FPS wise I'm usually around 100 (i7 4790k and GTX970) and don't have any problems that would a negative impact on my gameplay.
Can you raid on all of our raid days (Wednesday, Sunday, Monday)? In addition, if raid days are moved will this cause a problem?
Like I said above; I'm on every day, mostly during the evening and don't see why I couldnt attend 100% of the raids.
Do you have Discord installed and are you willing to speak?
Of course, I have discord and a good headset. Also I'm not afraid to speak up but don't talk 24/7 either.
Your Raiding Background:
I just started playing the game a few months ago around the release date of BfA so I've only raided Uldir and BoD so far.
Uldir: As this was my first raid ever I didn't really know what to except. I decided to join the guild 'Hypoxic-Ahn'Qiraj' and started raiding mythic with them. I quickly became on of the best players in there and managed to clear 8/9 with them. Sadly once we approached G'huun lots of members didn't wanna go through the struggle of hundreds of pulls and I decided to look for a new guild to kill G'huun with. I then joined my current guild 'Curse of Years' on Arathor and got my Cutting Edge G'huun there. Once again I quickly became a member of the core raid team and one of the top tier players the guild had to offer.
BoD: After my first raid tier in Uldir I was super hyped for BoD and happy that I found a good guild to progress it with. I was able to attend all raids since I joined them except for two nights due to being sick. We managed to end the Tier at a world rank of 475 which isn't too bad but could've been a lot better - problem was two of our main healers and a dps got banned for abusing the XP-Pot bug and we quickly had to rearrange our roster over 200 pulls in on jaina. That being said we didnt give up but dealt with the situation and came out with a decent world rank.
Please give a brief overview of your guild history and what is the reason for leaving your current/last guild?
Hypoxic: As I mentioned above the guild fell apart and from the friends I still have over there they told me shortly after I left the decided to completely stop raiding and pretty much disbanded
Curse of Years (Current Guild): My main problem is the mentality and mindset of some people in the guild. I personally always try my best and tryhard a 100% on every pull and even after hundreds of wipes I'm still in that same mindset. Also the lack of understanding of mechanics and as to why we do things the way we do it seems to be an issue within the guild. Most people just do whatever is called instead of using their own brain and actually trying to understand how and why we do things. I personally find it alot easier and super helpful to optimize my playstyle and small little things when I actually understand whats going on and don't just do it because I'm told so. I think this is also one of my biggest strengths, having the full understanding of fight and their mechanics. Another big reason I'm looking to change guilds is because people in my guild right now are not very open to critic - and I actually mean critic and not flame.
What is your raiding experience? (starting with the most recent Tier(s)).
I've already explained quite alot on the question above as I think they go hand in hand so I'm gonna keep it a bit shorter here:
BoD; I've secured myself a spot in our core group between the time in uldir and bod and became our main DH. Progression wise it obviously could've been faster but I came into the guild know it's gonna be somewhat casual and since I was still pretty new to the whole raiding thing I was okay with that. The further we got into the raid the more I realized that I want to take it to another level. We were already raiding 3 days and for the time investment our progression was rather slow and thats when I decided to look for a new guild which is arguably more skilled and has a more competitive approach to the game. We have a really good raidlead that keeps things together but sometimes he's not strict enough with people underperforming.
Anyway, we managed to kill Jaina about 3 weeks ago with a few hiccups and are currently reclearing and farming Jaina for the mount.
What websites/resources do you use to keep yourself updated on the game and your class?
I watch alot of twitch streams and youtube videos mostly of people that play the same class as me but also a variety of others to get a bit more insight on other classes etc. Apart from that I read any upcomming changes/buffs/nerfs regarding my class on wowhead or other WoW-News sites. Obviously I sim my gear in order to output maximum dps and finding the best azerite pieces or trinkets. I also talk alot to other players of my spec to exchange thoughs/strats and I'm also in the class discord for DH's.
Obviously knowledge isn't everything so I always try things in game. For example if I try a different build I practice on target dummys and make the necessary changes if needed. Same thing goes for Azerite Pieces or Trinkets; If I think something could be better than what I currently have I try it out and make a decision based on the results.
What do you expect from us?
A competitive guild that focuses on clearing mythic content as fast as possible while still having fun. Outside of raiding I personally play alot of m+ (2.5k rating) and would like to see others do the same. And lastly a fun group of people looking to raid together longterm.
Do you know anyone in the guild, if yes who?
I currently don't know anyone within the guild but I'm looking forward to meeting everyone :)
Where did you hear about us? (WoW Progress, MMO Champion etc.)
I was looking for guilds on WoW Progress that might be interested in a Havoc DH.
Lastly, is there anything else you'd like to mention?
1. As I'm on another server I'm obviously willing to transfer over to you guys even if it's just for a trial.
2. What I lack in previous raiding experience I make up for with incredible hard work and individual skill. Don't let this influence your final decision too much.
